Plein Air: Pines in the Dusk

I tried to express the subtlety of light in the dusk. It was hard because it changed bit by bit before you realized it. I planned to paint into the effect and got there around 5 PM. I kept cautioning myself of the changes. It took an hour and a half to paint it. The location was Leland Heights and Abbott intersection. Pretty soon I am going to paint urban scenes in New York. It was getting uncomfortable to paint plein airs in Florida. There was only one mosquito bite today. However, I was bothered by a kind of bugs which were like small beetles. Insect repellent was useless to them. At first, I thought they were big ants. Their bites hurt badly when they got under the shirt.
