Mourning (Ink Wash)

This is actually a homework assigned for my drawing class. It is required to be a drawing of "two figures -- full major composition". Like the previous assignment "Needlework", I often try to include a degree of drama in it. That is my personal agenda, especially when there are two figures in the picture. It is not a work about patriotism. No, it is not. If asked about the meaning, I'd rather say it is an expression of sorrows over the loss of young lives, the lives of "have nots" and criticism of those who have  made indiscreet decisions on war and other people's lives while they themselves had their fathers' big pockets to hide in when they were called to go to war.
